what a written test misses
How it works
From your first sentence to your level
Choose your language
Tell us which one you speak and which one you want to learn. The one you learn is for good: everything revolves around it.
Practise every day
Talking to the agent, climbing stages in Lingo Ascent or getting to grips with your exam's format.
Measure your level
Whenever you like, a spoken test climbs with you from A1 towards C2 and tells you how far you get.
Why Agnetia
Speaking is learnt by speaking
Speech is the missing piece
Almost everything you study, you read or hear. Speaking is only learnt by speaking, and here every turn makes you build the sentence out loud.
A test that isn't improvised
The level test climbs a fixed staircase decided by the code, not the model, and every result records which model measured it.
Upfront about what it doesn't do
It doesn't correct pronunciation and it doesn't award official qualifications. We say so here so nobody finds out later.
What's included
Three ways to progress, one fee
Practice, out loud
A voice agent asks you in your language, you answer out loud in the one you're learning, and it corrects you before the next question. Vocabulary, numbers, verbs, prepositions, articles, conditionals and conversation.
Lingo Ascent, from A1 to C2
A role-playing game across six worlds, one per CEFR level, with twenty stages each, recorded audio and voice challenges. Stars, experience and titles to keep you going.
Exam prep
Exercises in the format of your language's official exam — Cambridge, DELE, DELF, Goethe and others — from A1 to C2. Your writing and speaking are marked by AI against the exam's criteria.
Who it's for
Four situations where it fits
You understand, but can't speak
You can read and follow a series, then go blank when you speak. This trains exactly that: building the sentence and saying it.
You have an exam coming up
Practise with the format of the official exam at your level and check your spoken level before you sit it.
You want to know where you are
A spoken test that isn't improvised gives you your CEFR level, and you can repeat it to see how far you've come.
You have ten minutes a day
You get six or seven spoken turns a minute: ten minutes is more speaking practice than a whole group class.
Learning a language takes discipline, and knowing whether you're improving takes measuring it. Agnetia gives you something to practise with every day and a test to see where you stand.
What Agnetia is like inside
Easy to use, clear about data
Nothing to install
- Everything runs in the browser, on a computer or a phone.
- You hold the button to speak and release it when you're done.
- The level test ends on its own and your level appears at the end.
Your data
- Your account can be deleted from your own profile, without writing to anyone.
- Your voice is not stored: it is transcribed and discarded.
- Payments go through Stripe's page: Agnetia never sees the card number.
Before you start
What do I need to use it?
A browser and a microphone; ideally headphones and a quiet spot. There is nothing to install, and it works on a computer or a phone.
Does it correct my pronunciation?
No. Agnetia works on the transcript of what you say, not the audio: it corrects what you say, not how it sounds. For your accent you'll need other help.
Is the level an official certificate?
No, and it does not claim to be. It is an indicative measure of where you stand. Certificates are issued by Cambridge, the Instituto Cervantes or the Goethe-Institut, and Agnetia does not replace them.
