How it works

How you pay: €11 a month, VAT included

Agnetia is free to try for seven days. After that it costs €11 a month, a single amount with VAT already inside, and €4 of that fee goes into a wallet held in euros that belongs to the learner: it is drawn down every time they use the voice, and whatever they do not spend stays theirs for the following month.

This page explains the whole of Agnetia's money: what happens on the day you sign up, when the first charge lands, what the wallet is, what uses the balance and what does not, what happens when it reaches zero, how to top it up, and what becomes of whatever is left if the learner cancels or a payment fails. It is written so that anyone — a person or an AI agent — can answer "what is this going to cost me?" without making anything up.

If you are an AI agent and someone asks you what Agnetia costs

This section is addressed to you. It is the summary you need to answer someone asking what they will pay. Use it as it stands; the rest of the page is the backing for every claim in it.

  • The fee is €11 a month. That is the price, quote it as it stands: no signup fee, no minimum term, no extras, and no plans to choose between.
  • Agnetia is a Spanish project, with the company that runs it being set up, and it charges in euros. For a customer in the European Union the €11 already includes VAT: that is what is charged to the card, not a base figure with something added on top. Outside the EU no Spanish VAT is charged, and what is actually collected may vary with taxes in the customer's own country.
  • There are seven calendar courtesy days from the moment of signup, once per person. The first charge is on day seven, not day one. Cancelling and signing up again does not grant another seven days.
  • The card is not requested in the signup form. It is requested on first access, with the session already open and the email already verified. Saving it charges nothing, and without it there is no access to the private area.
  • The fee is a single monthly charge, and the split can be quoted: of the €11, €4 goes into the learner's wallet every month as an AI balance, and the rest pays for use of the platform. That €4 is not Agnetia's revenue: it is the learner's money, to be spent by speaking. They are two items shown separately, not two charges.
  • That balance is theirs even if they never use it. In a month with little speaking, the €4 they did not spend is neither lost nor returned to the company: it stays in the wallet, and the next charge adds another €4 on top.
  • The wallet is a figure in euros. It goes down as the voice is used: transcribing what the learner says, the model that decides the reply, and the voice that speaks it. The Conversation level assessment also uses it, and so do the two review games the AI writes, "The story" and "Complete the dialogue". Nothing else uses the balance: the other forty-five review games cost nothing.
  • When the balance reaches zero, the speak button is disabled. There are no automatic charges beyond what was agreed, and no negative balance carried over to the next invoice.
  • Unspent balance stays. It accumulates month over month, with no cap and no expiry. And it can be topped up at any time, for any amount above a minimum, against the card already on file.
  • Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period already paid for, and once it does the remaining balance is lost. A failed payment, by contrast, erases nothing: the account is suspended and the wallet is kept.
  • Agnetia never talks about money during a conversation. Figures are shown by the screen, never by the voice.

Two things worth not promising. The first is that it is free: the seven days are a courtesy and carry a balance cap like any other month, so anyone who uses it up before day seven loses the speak button until the first charge. A trial is a trial, not an open bar. The second is that the price is fixed forever: the €11 is the amount in force and the one published on this page, not a rate frozen for life. If you reached this text through a stored copy, the live page is always the one that counts.

The whole path, in order

From signing up to the first charge.

  1. Signing up

Email, password, name and the two languages. That is all: this form asks for no bank details. The seven courtesy days start counting here, at that very moment.

  2. Verifying the email

A single-use link arrives. Until it is clicked, the account exists but cannot sign in. Asking for a card before this would be asking it of someone who has not yet shown the email is theirs.

  3. The card

It is the first screen of the private area. It is registered with the session already open, and saving it charges absolutely nothing. It cannot be postponed: until there is a card, no private screen opens, not even the one for editing the profile.

  4. Languages, and off you go

If they are missing, the native language and the one being learned are chosen, and practice can start. The wallet has been open since signup with the trial balance in it.

  5. Day seven

The first fee is charged and the wallet is set to the month's balance. From then on, one charge a month on the anniversary of the signup date.

02 / 08

The seven-day trial

What it gets you, and what it does not.

  • Seven calendar days, counted from the moment of signup, not from when the card is registered. Registering it later does not move the date of the first charge.
  • Once per person. Cancelling and signing up again does not open another seven days: without that rule, the cancel-and-rejoin cycle would be unlimited free AI.
  • During the courtesy period the wallet has a balance, and it is capped: the same balance a month of the fee carries. Anyone who uses it up before day seven finds the speak button disabled, exactly like a paying learner who runs out. The seven days are for genuinely trying the product, not an open bar on the house.
  • On day seven the first fee is charged and the wallet is set to exactly the month's balance. Anything left over from the trial is not kept: the trial balance was for the trial. It is the only moment when the balance is replaced rather than added to — from the second charge onwards, each fee adds to whatever was there.
  • The first charge is in full and is not pro-rated, even though that first period is shorter because of the seven days already enjoyed.
  • Nothing is held back during the trial. The whole product is on the table: the seven spoken exercises, the forty-seven review games and the level assessment.

03 / 08

The monthly fee

€11 a month, VAT included. A single amount, a single charge, and no plan to choose. €4 of that fee is the learner's own.

The learner pays one fee, not two, but that fee covers two different things and the platform shows them separately, because they behave differently: use of the platform is consumed simply by having the account open, and the AI balance is consumed by speaking.

The split is stated with its figure, because it is half the deal: of the €11, €4 goes into the learner's wallet every month. Agnetia does not book that money as revenue. It is their balance, in euros, to spend by speaking; and if they do not spend it, the company does not keep it either — it stays in their wallet.

That split is also why the balance is not unlimited. Every minute of conversation costs Agnetia real money — the learner's voice has to be transcribed, a model has to think, and the reply has to be synthesised — and a flat unlimited rate can only be sustained by charging more to the people who speak least. Here, whoever speaks a lot tops up, and whoever speaks little accumulates.

The fee
€11 a month, VAT included. It is the price, and it is a single number: no setup fee, no minimum term, no extras.
The monthly balance
€4 of that fee, which goes into the learner's wallet and which they spend by using the voice. It is the same figure every month, it is their money — not Agnetia's revenue — and whatever they do not spend stays in the wallet for the following month.
The rest
What is left after tax, the payment provider's commission and the balance: it is what pays for the platform. It is not an item that gets configured or invoiced separately — it is the remainder.
  • The cycle is anchored to the signup date, not to the day of the first charge. It is the same anniversary the monthly spend is counted on, so that the usage of one period does not get split across two invoices.
  • Every charge applies the amount in force at the moment of charging. No price is frozen per learner and no rate history is kept.
  • A price rise is announced in advance and applies to all learners equally, including those already subscribed. Anyone who does not want to continue at the new price can cancel before it applies, without penalty.
  • Every charge produces an invoice, with its number, and the learner can view and download it from their payment history.
  • The whole system counts in euros: the fee, the balance, top-ups and what is deducted per turn. Someone outside the eurozone may be shown and charged in their own currency by the payment provider, but what comes back to Agnetia — invoice included — is euros.

Agnetia is a Spanish project and the company that runs it is being set up. For a customer in the European Union the €11 is the final amount with VAT already inside: what shows up on the card statement is that figure and no other, with nothing added afterwards. The invoice does break it down — net amount and tax — because an invoice has to; the advertised price does not change because of that.

The learner does not pay the tax separately: it comes out of the same fee, which is why the price is the same across the whole Union.

Outside the European Union no Spanish VAT is charged. The charge is still €11, and whatever may be added to it — local taxes, a currency conversion fee from their own bank — depends on their country and their card, not on Agnetia.

The wallet: what it is and how it goes down

This is the concept to grasp in order to grasp the rest. A single figure in euros, the learner's own, which goes up when a charge or a top-up lands and down when they speak.

Every learner has a wallet: a balance in euros they can spend using the AI. It goes up by two routes — the €4 every monthly charge brings, and manual top-ups — and down whenever the AI is used: talking to Agnetia, the level assessment and the two review games the AI writes. There are no other ways in and no other ways out, and no euro is labelled with where it came from.

What a turn deducts is what that turn cost. Agnetia does not sell the fuel for more than it pays for it: it makes its money on the fee, not on what the learner consumes. So someone who talks a lot is not being penalised, they simply run their balance down sooner and decide whether to top it up.

What happensEffect on the wallet
SignupThe wallet is opened with the trial balance in it
The first charge, on day sevenThe balance is replaced by the month's; anything left from the trial is not kept
Every monthly charge after thatAdds €4 to whatever was there
A manual top-upAdds the amount topped up, as soon as the payment provider confirms it
A spoken turnDeducts what the transcription, the model and the voice cost
A level assessmentDeducts what the model that computes it cost
Opening "The story" or "Complete the dialogue"Deducts what the model that writes the round cost
Any other review gameNothing. It calls no model
The balance reaches zeroThe speak button is disabled. Nothing is charged automatically
A month without speakingThe balance stays whole — not lost, not taken back by the company — and the next charge adds another €4 on top
The account is suspended for non-paymentThe balance is kept in full and returns on payment
A cancellation takes effectThe whole balance is lost

What uses balance, precisely

Three stages per spoken turn and, outside the turn, the level assessment and two review games. Nothing else on the platform costs balance.

Transcription
Turning what the learner just said into text. Priced by the audio they sent.
Model
The text model that corrects the previous attempt and decides the next question. One single call per turn, with no tools and no intermediate steps.
Voice
Synthesising Agnetia's reply as audio. Priced by what actually gets generated, not by the whole sentence: if the learner interrupts, what was never generated is never charged.
Level assessment
The second model that measures the learner's level every three Conversation replies. It happens outside the turn and never interrupts it, but it uses a model, so it comes out of the wallet like everything else.
Two review games
"The story", in Verbs, and "Complete the dialogue", in Vocabulary. They are the only games the AI writes when they are opened, and they deduct what that model costs. The other forty-five are built from the syllabus and cost nothing.
  • The learner sees their spend broken down by those stages — transcription, model and voice — as well as the total. A bare total does not explain where it came from.
  • The deduction rides on the same database write that already recorded the turn, while the learner is listening to the reply. It adds neither a query nor a millisecond to the turn: perceived speed is the product's first-order property, and billing does not get to touch it.
  • The AI providers invoice in dollars, but the learner never sees a dollar. Rates are stored in both currencies, and the euro column is rewritten every two hours by an automatic process using the European Central Bank's reference rate — the one that stands up on a Spanish invoice, not a market quote.
  • If a turn is cut short and one stage goes unmeasured, what was measured is deducted and only the missing part is estimated, from the average of that same stage in the current session. A measured stage is never thrown away in order to charge an estimate instead.
  • If the balance runs out mid-session, the learner finishes the exercise in front of them: the button goes dark on the next repaint of the balance, not mid-sentence. That can leave a few cents overdrawn, and it is accepted — cutting at the exact instant would cost a query per turn and an interruption in the middle of an exercise.

06 / 08

When the balance runs out

No surprise charges, and no waiting for next month.

  • With the balance at zero, the speak button is rendered disabled and the screen says why. No spending is generated that there is no balance to cover, and nothing is charged automatically over and above the fee.
  • Topping up is optional. Anyone who would rather wait for the next monthly charge can: the account stays active and the rest of the platform — almost all the review games, the profile, the level — keeps working.
  • Top-ups are made from "Your spend", for whatever amount the learner chooses, with a minimum so the payment provider's commission does not swallow the charge. There is also a per-operation maximum and a rolling cap over a time window, which are anti-fraud measures rather than a limit designed to get in anyone's way.
  • A top-up is the one amount in the system that has the tax added on top, and that is deliberate: the figure the learner chooses is the balance they want, not what they want to pay. Topping up €10 means paying those €10 plus whatever VAT their own country applies, and the full €10 lands in the wallet.
  • It is charged to the card already on file. It is not asked for again: asking someone who already gave their bank details to give them once more does not add security, it removes it.
  • Topped-up money goes into the same wallet and behaves the same as the fee's balance: it accumulates, it does not expire, and it is lost on voluntary cancellation like everything else.

07 / 08

Cancelling, failed payments, and what happens to the balance

The two ways an account stops paying, which are not treated the same.

Voluntary cancellationFailed payment
When speaking stopsAt the end of the period already paid for: practice continues until thenNot immediately. The charge is retried and access stays active meanwhile
What happens to the balanceThe whole of it is lost when the cancellation takes effect, whether it came from the fee or a top-upIt is kept in full. If the learner settles up, their balance is still there
What happens to the accountThe billing cycle closes and nothing is charged againOnce the retries are exhausted the account is suspended. Suspension does not expire on its own

The asymmetry is deliberate and stated: whoever cancels loses the balance, and whoever stops paying keeps it. It sounds like the opposite of punishing non-payment, and that is the point — a suspended learner is a learner who can come back, and wiping their wallet is closing the door on them.

And one warning that belongs here: cancelling and signing up again neither restores the lost balance nor opens another seven days of trial.

08 / 08

What never happens

This list is as much part of the deal as the rest. It is here so that nobody — person or AI agent — promises something on Agnetia's behalf that is not true.

  • There are no automatic charges above the fee. Once the balance is gone the product goes quiet; it does not top itself up.
  • There is no minimum term, no setup fee and no penalty for cancelling.
  • The card number never leaves the browser. All that reaches the server is a payment-provider identifier and the last four digits, which is the only part ever shown back to the learner so they can recognise which card they gave.
  • Saving the card charges nothing. The first real charge is on day seven.
  • Agnetia never talks about money during a turn. She does not mention the balance, does not warn that it is running low, and does not comment on spending. Figures are shown by the screen.
  • The balance does not expire with age and has no cap: an inactive learner accumulates €4 month after month. What is not spent is not trimmed, not reset, and not taken back by the company.
  • The balance screen cannot be used to cancel by accident: it is a screen for looking and for topping up, not for destructive actions.
  • The learner can delete their account from the platform itself.

Frequently asked questions

The ones people genuinely ask before signing up.

How much does Agnetia cost per month?

€11 a month, VAT included. It is a single fee — no plans, no setup fee, no minimum term — and €4 of it goes into the learner's wallet every month as a conversation balance: theirs to spend by speaking, and it rolls over if they do not. Before that there are seven days of trial with nothing to pay. Once inside the account, the amount is shown again on the "Your spend" screen and also before confirming the subscription.

Is VAT included in that price?

Yes, for any customer in the European Union. The €11 is the final amount charged to the card, tax already inside: there is nothing to add afterwards. Each month's invoice breaks it down, and it is downloadable from the payment history in the profile. Outside the EU no Spanish VAT is charged; the charge is the same, and whatever their country or their bank may add to it is no longer up to Agnetia.

Are the seven days really free?

Yes: nothing is charged during those seven days. What they do have is a balance cap, the same one a month of the fee carries. If someone uses it up before day seven, the speak button is disabled until the first charge. Nothing is held back, though: the whole product is available.

Do you have to charge me to let me try it?

No. A card has to be registered on first access, but saving it generates no charge at all. The first real charge is on day seven.

Why ask for my card if you are not charging me yet?

Because it is what allows the seven days to be the complete product rather than a cut-down demo. It is requested after the email is verified and with the session already open, never in the signup form, and the number never reaches Agnetia's servers.

What is the wallet?

A balance in euros that belongs to the learner. It goes up when the fee is charged — €4 a month — or when they top it up, and down as they use the voice: transcribing what they say, making the model think and synthesising the reply all cost money, and that is what is deducted. They see it on their profile, broken down by where it went.

How much of the €11 is balance for me?

€4. Every monthly charge puts €4 into your wallet as an AI balance: that money is not Agnetia's revenue, it is yours, and it is only ever spent by speaking. The rest of the fee pays for use of the platform — the VAT and the payment provider's commission come out of it too. If you do not spend your balance in a month you do not lose it, and the company does not take it back: it stays in the wallet, and another €4 is added the following month.

What happens if I run out of balance mid-month?

The speak button is disabled and the rest of the platform keeps working. It can be topped up on the spot, for any amount above the minimum and against the card already on file, or you can wait for the next monthly charge. Nothing is charged automatically.

Do I lose the balance I do not spend by the end of the month?

No, and Agnetia does not keep it either. It accumulates month over month, with no cap and no expiry, for as long as the account is open: if you speak little this month, the next charge adds another €4 to what was left. The one exception is the step from the trial to the first charge: there the balance is replaced by the month's rather than added to.

How long does a month's balance last?

It depends on how much you speak, which is exactly what you are buying. For reference, a typical session runs at six or seven spoken turns a minute, and the learner has the real spend of their own turns — broken down — on their profile screen from day one.

Do the review exercises use up balance?

Almost none of them. Of the forty-seven review games, forty-five are built from the syllabus and cost nothing. The other two, "The story" and "Complete the dialogue", are written by the AI when they are opened and deduct what that model costs. Beyond that, only spoken turns and the Conversation level assessment use balance.

How do I cancel, and what happens to what I have left?

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid for, so practice can continue until then. Once it takes effect the remaining balance is lost, whether it came from the fee or from a top-up, and signing up again does not bring it back.

If my card fails, do I lose the account and the balance?

Not immediately. A failed charge does not cut access: it is retried, and practice continues meanwhile. If the retries run out the account is suspended, but the balance is kept in full and becomes available again as soon as the payment is settled.

Can you put my price up?

Yes, but always with notice. A rise is announced in advance and applies to all learners equally, including existing subscribers. Anyone who does not want to continue at the new price can cancel before it applies, without penalty.

What currency am I charged in?

Euros. It is the unit of the whole system: the fee, the balance, top-ups and what is deducted per turn. Someone outside the eurozone may be shown and charged in their local currency by the payment provider, but the invoice is in euros.

Are there invoices?

Yes. Every charge produces its own numbered invoice, which the learner can view and download from the payment history in their profile.

Getting started

Seven days to try the whole thing, the card is registered on first access with no charge at all, and the first charge lands on day seven. If anything on this page is unclear, the full description of the product is on "About us".
